built by a backend engineer who got tired of overrides on top of overrides - so it does the rebalancing for you.

01 · the pain

on-call breaks in the same four places

these are on-call engineers' own words, from the forums - and what oncaly does about each.

overrides on top of overrides

mark an absence once - the rota finds a fair swap automatically, no stacking.

an hour to remove someone from an escalation policy

remove someone from a policy in about 30 seconds.

cost prohibitive for our team

one flat price for the whole team - add engineers for free, never per seat.

it felt like a tool sold to CTOs, not users

built for the engineer getting paged, not the CTO buying it.
02 · how it works

mark out → the schedule heals → the alert fires → someone wakes up

one flow, one tool - from marking out to someone actually waking up.

- 01 / self-healing schedule

take a vacation. mark it once.

the rotation finds a fair swap automatically - your shifts go to whoever is carrying the least, balanced across the team. no manual overrides, no 11pm group chat.

- 02 / calendar & holiday aware

knows when it's your day off.

syncs with google and outlook and knows public holidays for your region. if you're out, you're not in the rotation - nobody gets paged on a day off.

the page that actually wakes you.

phone call plus critical-alert delivery on every plan - we call again and again until you ack, and a one-time setup makes sure the call rings through silent mode. not an add-on, not behind a paywall. you're on call because you will be called.

stop gluing five products together.

cron and heartbeat monitoring, uptime checks, on-call schedule, escalation and alerting - one tool, one bill. checks fire twice from two regions before they wake anyone, so a blip never pages the team.

04 · questions

straight answers for skeptical engineers

yes - that's the point. every plan gets a phone call plus critical-alert delivery - we call again and again until you acknowledge, and a one-time setup guide makes sure the call rings through silent mode. checks fire twice, from two regions, before anyone is paged, so a single blip never wakes the team. it is never an add-on and never behind a paywall.
yes. opsgenie reaches end of life on 5 april 2027, so we're building import first - you'll be able to bring your schedules, escalation policies and monitors over in an afternoon, self-serve on every plan. cron checks from cronhub (shutting down 30 june 2026) import too. on the scale plan we'll also help with the migration hands-on.
at launch / early access: self-healing schedules with fair swaps, calendar + holiday awareness, cron/heartbeat and uptime monitoring, escalation, and reliable wake-up - these are what we're building for the first release. later: alerting on your own prometheus / graphite metrics. we label the roadmap clearly and never sell you something that doesn't exist yet.
not at launch - oncaly is hosted to start, so we can guarantee the wake-up path end to end. self-hosting is something we're listening on; tell us in the waitlist if it's a hard requirement and it'll weigh on the roadmap.
your schedules, contacts and monitoring data are yours. we use them to run your on-call and nothing else - no reselling, no training on your incident data. you can export everything, and you can delete your account and data at any time.
not publicly - oncaly is pre-launch. we're onboarding a first batch of small teams this quarter. join the waitlist and we'll reach out with early access; there's no charge and no card while you're on the list.
